I have had many clients that ask me “What is WordPress”.  It is basically hard to describe in words, but I will do my best in this article.

If you ever wanted an easy way to add information to your website without calling a web professional to make a small change for you, then WordPress may be your ticket.  WordPress is Known as a website content management system (or CMS).  What this means is you can have a web developer (like me) build you a site theme and you can control what content is displayed.  You can create new pages, blog post, add menu items and more all from the WordPress admin area.

In non-geek speak, it’s probably the easiest and most powerful blogging and website content management system (or CMS) in existence today.

Who uses WordPress?

There are so many sites that use WordPress, you would be in good company if you use WordPress to publish on the web. There are top blogs, news outlets, music sites, Fortune 500 companies and celebrities are using WordPress.

For example, famous blogs like Mashable and TechCrunch are both on WordPress. News outlets like The New York Times’ blogs and CNN’s on-air personality blogs all use WordPress, too.
